What is Crossfit?
CrossFit is defined as “constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity”. WOD’s (or workout of the day) are based on functional movements, and include a large variety of movements including but not limited to- gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. By constantly varying programming, movements, and adding in that level of intensity- you will be shocked by your fitness gains!The community that arises when people complete these workouts together is a huge reason why CrossFit is so effective!
Walking in to the gym where everyone knows you, taking advantage of that natural camaraderie, competition and adding in the fun of sport, takes you to a whole new level for your workout! CrossFit is for anybody, regardless of your fitness level. Any workout can be scaled to meet your needs by changing load and intensity- not programming.

Our approach to health and wellness focuses not only on physical fitness training, but strengthening the mind, body and soul. We know that incorporating all the body’s requirements allows a person to reach their fullest potential in all aspects of life.
Crossfit for Kids is Coached by Ashley ( L1 CrossFit, and CrossFit for Kids). This class is for children aged 5-12. We focus on good mechanics and consistency through skill work, adding in some intensity through our WOD’s! We combine aspects from gymnastics (ex- pull ups, rope climbs and handstands), weightlifting (ex- deadlifts, presses, squats), body-weight training, and endurance training (ex- running, jumping, rowing) in our classes.
We end classes with a game as a reward for all the hard work put in that day. Our goal is to create a fun atmosphere for kids, increase physical literacy, sport performance and cognitive function while decreasing sport related injuries.
